Acupuncture in Ashton, MD

Welcome

Welcome to Kate Walshe Acupuncture where your flourishing is my goal.  Health improves when we respect our own rhythms and needs through flexibility, variety, and moderation.  Acupuncture, herbs, diet, physical exercise, mental discipline, and modification of lifestyle habits are tools that can be used to reestablish the rhythm and flow required for health.  There is a saying in acupuncture, “Same disease different treatment, same treatment different disease.”  Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide variety of symptoms, but exactly how that is done depends on the individual with the symptom.  For simple problems one or two treatments may be sufficient. Chronic conditions may require 10-12 treatments or more.  At each appointment I work with you to assess and co-create the best treatment strategies for you specifically.

My office is located between Olney and Clarksville in Ashton, Maryland, making it convenient to both of these areas as well as Glenelg and Maple Lawn.

Using acupuncture, guasha, cupping, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching, I help patients find solutions.  Acupuncture is a bridge between the body, mind, and spirit, and can lead to healing on many levels.  If you want to have less pain, more inner peace, or just feel better than you do now, call or text, Kate Walshe Acupuncture.

Yet, for many people seeking relief from neurological, physical, and emotional challenges, scalp acupuncture is

Chinese & Japanese Acupuncture: Two Traditions, One Lineage

Both Japanese and Chinese acupuncture spring from the same classical East Asian medical roots, yet they diverged over centuries into distinct clinical styles. In Japan, techniques evolved toward gentler, highly tactile methods. And in China, the practice of acupuncture tended to emphasize stronger needle sensation and standardized point prescriptions within Traditional Chinese Medicine, also known as TCM. While some

What is Five Element Acupuncture?

Five Element Acupuncture is a classical style of East Asian medicine that organizes diagnosis and treatment around the dynamic interplay of five phases/elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Each element is associated (in this framework) with organ networks, emotions, sensory patterns, and seasonal cycles. Treatment aims to restore harmony among these elements when one becomes predominant or deficient.
